Wishing the very best of luck to the Gala Finalists of the first ever Short+Sweet Essex, who are performing tonight at Brentwood Theatre for one last time. Many congratulations to Hazel Lucas and all involved on a superb debut festival.
Of course, I must give a special shout-out and extra-enthusiastic “chookas!” to Team Unlimited Service - director Jack Cressall and actors James Little and Matt Willis - who have delivered a magnificent production of my play (find out more about this talented troupe here). I was lucky enough to see the play for myself during Week 1 of the festival, and it was a clever, pitch-perfect and enormously entertaining interpretation. The festival judges evidently thought so too, awarding the piece a clutch of nominations going into tonight’s Gala Final. Bravo and well done to all!
