I’m really pleased to say that my newest play ALAN HAS LEFT THE CHAT has been announced as one of the winners of the Chesil Theatre national writing competition TakeTen.
My play will now be staged, alongside nine other winning pieces, at Chesil Theatre in Winchester on Saturday 24th February and Sunday 25th February 2024. TakeTen Chesil Theatre New Writing Festival took as its theme this year “Snakes & Ladders” - an intriguing writing prompt which certainly inspired me to new heights!
Chesil Theatre, in the ancient city of Winchester, is a unique 75-seat theatre space nestled in a former 12th century church, and is believed to be the oldest building currently used as a theatre in the UK. As Winchester’s leading amateur theatre, Chesil enjoys an enviable reputation for delivering high quality productions - from comedy to classics - and, of course, for nurturing new and innovation work through its bi-annual TakeTen national new playwrighting festival.
Thank you, Chesil and thank you, judges for this wonderful recognition, of which I’m especially proud!
